Europa Worldwide has appointed Chan Lee-Ming as general manager for its Hong Kong team as the UK-based forwarder moves to expand its air and sea services throughout Asia.
Chan brings with him over 30 years of experience including working for several of the top players in Hong Kong, including six years with DHL, eight years with Panalpina and four years as regional general manager for Toll. Most recently he was director, global account management, for Cargo Services Far East.
Following its earlier announcement of its intentions to expand across Asia, Europa said it would be completing an Asian acquisition by end of 2018, followed by the opening of offices in China and Southeast Asia in the coming years.
“Lee-Ming’s considerable experience in the industry will see him support this strategy to drive long term profitability across Asia, improving Europa’s competitiveness and quality of service whilst expanding its customer base,” the company said.
Chan added: “I’m delighted to have joined Europa at such an exciting time in its development as a global company. One of the main reasons the business appealed to me was its commitment to constant evolution and growth.
“I see huge potential for Europa to become a major player in the Asian market and I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to support the team with opening potential new branches over the next few years.”
