Cargo traffic at Dubai World Central (DWC) grew 8.9 per cent during the first quarter of 2018, according to a report issued today by operator Dubai Airports.
DWC handled a total of 229,831 tonnes of freight between January and March 2018, an increase of 8.9 per cent compared to 211,144 tonnes during the corresponding period in 2017.
A total of 20 scheduled cargo operators fly to as many as 68 destinations from DWC. Additionally 15 passenger carriers now operate an average of 153 flights weekly to more than 30 international destinations across 10 countries.
Passenger traffic at DWC was up marginally in the first three months of 2018 by 0.2 per cent to 334,455 passengers.
