Blue Dart, India’s leading logistics services provider, and part of Deutsche Post DHL Group (DPDHL), announces ambitious expansion plans to deliver to every Indian home by December 2018.
The initiative is one of the biggest drives undertaken to expand Blue Dart’s reach to every corner of India and aims to reach 19,100+ pin codes by December 2018. The move comes amidst rising demand for e-commerce deliveries in tier II, III & IV towns across India.
The e-commerce sector has seen explosive growth leading to renewed interest express logistics services which recently saw low-cost carrier, SpiceJet, inaugurate its first freighter under the SpiceXpress brand.
The Blue Dart goal is to reach every Indian home, further strengthening its leadership position in the Express Logistics industry in India for B2B and B2C, the company said. The home grown express company, which was fully acquired by DPDHL in 2016, is the largest third party logistics service provider and has the widest coverage across India currently.
This latest initiative was launched in January 2018 and since then Blue Dart has expanded its reach from 6,164 pin codes to 17,677+ pin codes across the country, to-date. As of September 2018, Blue Dart has achieved 100 per cent pin code coverage in 16 states and union territories which includes Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Goa, Telangana, Gujarat, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Pondicherry, Daman & Diu, Chandigarh and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

As part of the expansion, Blue Dart has opened over 939+ new facilities (called NBDO – New Blue Dart Offices) to cater to the large consumer base in rural and remote locations. Blue Dart Aviation, the air carrier division of Blue Dart operates a fleet of six B757-200PCFs.
