Formerly the managing director of Air & Sea Logistics South China, Kevin Chen is a transportation logistics expert with exceptional performance in the region, Dachser says. He joined Dachser in 2003, when the company acquired Züst Ambrosetti Far East Ltd, and was promoted to the position of general manager of South China that same year. Under his supervision, South China’s business has grown substantially to more than 200 staff members and six offices today.

The team also welcomed Jesper Larsen as managing director of Air & Sea Logistics Hong Kong, effective 13 August. Reporting directly to Kevin Chen, Larsen brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the logistics industry. Most recently, he served as general manager of a well-known NVOCC in Hong Kong.

In addition, Dachser appointed Nick Chen as managing director of Air & Sea Logistics Taiwan. By consolidating Hong Kong, Taiwan and South China markets into the Far East South cluster, Dachser says it will provide new opportunities for cross-market synergies to expand the company’s footprint in a sustainable manner.

In addition, the new geographic region will provide increased visibility and security to customers by harnessing Dachser’s powerful suite of IT programmes, including the Othello international transport management system for air and sea, and the Mikado system for cross-continental warehouse management.

Meanwhile, to better serve its growing customer base in India and Bangladesh, Dachser established a new Indian Subcontinent cluster in July, 2018. Overseeing the territory is Huned Gandhi, who Dachser promoted as managing director Air & Sea Logistics Indian Subcontinent. Gandhi will be responsible for 540 employees, 18 locations, and sustainable expansion across the region.

Helming both India and Bangladesh markets, Gandhi will manage a growing team and continue developing dedicated services for defined industry segments like Life Science & Healthcare.

Gandhi is a supply chain specialist and award-winning leader with extensive experience in sales and logistics. He first joined Dachser in 2012 and established the company’s first office in Malaysia before relocating to India to become managing director of Dachser India in 2014.

Jude Crasto

Earlier in his career, Gandhi monitored Japan, Korea, and Europe while serving as general manager for Western India at Airfreight, which became Dachser India in 2013 following a joint venture formed in 2007.

In addition, Jude Crasto was appointed managing director of Air & Sea Logistics Bangladesh.

Crasto replaces former managing director Syed Sadaquat Hossain who, after nine years in the position, retired at the end of June 2018. Crasto joined Dachser in January 2018, bringing with him 25 years of experience in sales, trade management and contract logistics. Crasto headed a global logistics company in Bangladesh before joining Dachser in January 2018.

Dachser’s new Indian Subcontinent cluster reflects the company’s management approach, It said, which strongly promotes action at the local and regional level, where the closest customer relationships are in greatest demand. Given the management team’s experience in sales, logistics, and supply chain management, Gandhi and Crasto are well positioned to establish a strong presence in the region, the company adds.
