Jenny Zhao has been appointed head of the Asia-Pacific Region (APAC) of Azerbaijan’s Silk Way West Airlines, responsible for strategic and tactical leadership for a dynamic business development in the Asia-Pacific region. Zhao succeeds Nurid Aliyev, who resigned for personal reasons, according to Silk Way West.
“Jenny Zhao’s years of experience in the air cargo industry will give new impetus to Silk Way West Airlines’ Asia-Pacific operations,” says Wolfgang Meier, president and CEO of Silk Way West Airlines.

Zhao has 15 years of experience in the airfreight industry and has held senior management positions with several global cargo airlines over the last few years. Most recently, she served as chief commercial officer of the Asia-Pacific region at Silk Way West Airlines for two years and was also the head of the Shanghai office.
She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Washington University at St. Louis-Olin Business School and a bachelor’s degree from Shanghai University of Engineering Services.
Silk Way West Airlines is based in Baku, Azerbaijan and operates a fleet of more than twelve B747 freighters on a global network connecting more than 45 destinations worldwide.
