Turkish Cargo extends the validity period of its IATA CEIV Pharma certificate to 2022, demonstrating continued adherence to all required processes throughout the air transportation of medicinal products.
Training for the renewal period of the certificates, obtained initially in 2016 for a period of three years, were planned with the Turkish Airlines Aviation Academy. The audits by IATA resulted in the extension of the validity periods of such certificates for Turkish Airlines and its Ataturk Airport (ISL) station, the carrier says.
“Turkish Cargo acts responsibly with priority to maintenance of the integrity of all cold-chain products throughout the transportation process of the critical medicinal products,” the carrier adds.
This includes medicines, vaccines, biotechnological products, diagnosis samples, sensitive medical devices, organs, tissues, etc. which have a high level of importance with respect of temperature and time.
The carrier adds that it implements all handling procedures with dedicated teams working in harmony at its special cargo storage facility of 3,500 sqm in all its accomplished special cargo operations.
Turkish Cargo makes use of active temperature-controlled Envirotainer and CSafe containers, the electrical air-conditioning container Opticooler, Thermal Dolly and disposable thermal sheets equipped with thermal isolation features, minimising any and all risks in highly-critical medicinal products, it says.
