DB Schenker opens a new, state-of-the-art logistics warehouse in the strategically-important location of GVZ Augsburg in Germany.

The location is a busy regional hub for national and international freight transport and will serve robotics manufacturer KUKA and the MediaShop Group, amongst others.

With a total storage area of 38,000 sqm the new warehouse adds to existing DB Schenker facilities in the area, with commercial space for contract logistics now totalling 78,000 sqm. In the Augsburg region, DB Schenker operates multiple locations for various logistics businesses, with a combined commercial space of 140,000 sqm.

Schenker Deutschland CEO, Karl-Heinz Emberger says: “DB Schenker’s growing commitment at the Augsburg location represents an extremely successful win-win situation to all those involved.
