The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is postponing the 77th IATA Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit until October 2021.

The event, originally scheduled for 27-29 June 2021 in Boston will be hosted by JetBlue Airways in Boston on 3-5 October 2021.

“We believe that it is vital to do all we can to meet as an industry face-to-face,” says Alexandre de Juniac, IATA’s director general and CEO.

“Doing so will affirm that airlines can safely connect the world, demonstrate our industry’s resilience, and confirm the inestimable value of in-person meetings, facilitated by aviation,” de Juniac adds.

The move follows IATA’s postponement of the 14th World Air Cargo Symposium that was scheduled for Istanbul, Turkey on 9-11 March on 2 March, barely a week ahead of when the event was scheduled to kick off.
